A memorial for Pukeora Petterson of Taita, Lower Hutt city, Wellington ,New Zealand

 I haven't posted here for a long time. Why have I suddenly decided to do so? During the last month or so I lost my former wife, my life partner and my best friend. Years of debilitating illness just wore out this great old battler. Her body just wore out a mere three months before her 80th birthday. We as a family had planned on holding an 80th birthday party. We will be holding a memorial instead for Pukeora Petterson, Ngati Porou and East Coast born and bred. A great talker and humourist who could put a lawyer on the back-foot with her arguments, despite little formal education. One can only just imagine what her life may well have been had she not been caught up in a TB epidemic and confined to hospital early in life. She worked hard in her employment mainly in Lower Hutt. She was a great mother,grandmother and great grandmother of her many descendants. Rest In Peace Puke Petterson.
